A fragrant punch made with fruit juices, rum and brandy alongside warm spices. Thanks to the oranges, lemon, cinnamon and cloves it is a lovely warmer on a cold day.
Bring the water and sugar to the boil, then add thinly pared strips of washed orange peel and the peel of one lemon (organic if possible), the whole cinnamon, cloves and vanilla sugar. Cover and leave to cool.
Meanwhile, brew your favourite tea.
Stir the juice squeezed from the lemons and oranges, the rum and the brandy into the cooled mixture, mix well and warm it through, but do not boil!
Pour the punch base into mugs and top up with hot tea to taste. Garnish with spices, a slice of fruit and so on.
Serve the hot tea punch straight away; it will warm you up beautifully on cold days.
