Lavender is often used in cosmetics, it scents the whole home and can even repel moths. But did you know that you can also use it in the kitchen? It has a distinctive aroma and flavour. Make the best homemade lavender syrup and enjoy it in a refreshing lemonade, desserts or tea. Store the syrup in the fridge.
Put the lavender flowers into a larger saucepan, add the lemons cut into slices and the citric acid, pour over the boiled but cold water and leave to infuse for at least 24 hours (or longer).
After infusing, strain the syrup through a muslin cloth and squeeze it well. Heat the syrup and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves, but do not boil. Fill the syrup into jars or bottles, seal and store in the fridge.
