Makovec (Czech Poppy Seed Cake)
This fragrant poppy seed cake with chocolate is a classic of Czech home baking. It turns out best when you take all the ingredients out of the fridge beforehand and let them come to room temperature. Baked in a cake or bundt tin, it is brushed with jam and finished with chocolate glaze.
