Light and fluffy muffins with chunks of dark chocolate are easy to bake at home. The batter comes together in no time and fills the kitchen with a lovely aroma. Thanks to the cocoa, they have a rich chocolate flavour that kids and adults alike will enjoy.
First, preheat the oven to 180 °C and melt the butter.
In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and sugar, add the milk with the cooled melted butter and the eggs, and finally stir in the cocoa. If you don't want cocoa muffins, simply leave the cocoa out.
Stir the chocolate, chopped into small pieces, into the finished batter and keep a little back for the final topping.
Fill paper cases to two thirds with the batter and sprinkle the tops with chocolate. Bake the muffins in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
The batter makes 12 pieces, sometimes a few more.
