Tarte Tatin (French Upside-Down Apple Tart)

Would you believe that you can bake a wonderful tart in a frying pan? As long as it has no plastic handle, of course. Chef Roman Paulus has put together a recipe for an upside-down tart, the traditional French Tarte Tatin. The video guide shows you how to make the dough, which is similar to classic Linzer pastry, how to stew the apples in butter until they are properly soft, and how to cook the caramel into a butter-caramel sauce that gives the tart its distinctive flavour. The rest is just a matter of a little skill, and in no time you can serve it.
