Kontrabáš is a humble yet hearty Wallachian dish made from buckwheat and potatoes. Its exact form varied across the region – in Valašská Polanka it was drizzled with cream after baking, while in Horní Bečva cracklings and a pinch of peppery bryndza were added to the mixture.
