Pork neck braised in a roasting tin with garlic, onion and sweet paprika. The meat cooks slowly in a sauce of ketchup, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce until it is beautifully tender. The onion breaks down as it braises and gives the sauce a gentle sweetness. An easy lunch for four that even a beginner can manage.
Pour the oil into a roasting tin and add the slices of pork neck that you have salted and rubbed with crushed garlic.
Pour over the mixture of ketchup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika and a little sugar, then lay the onion slices on top of the pork.
Finally, add a little water to the tin and braise the pork slowly, topping up the liquid from time to time.
The pork neck is done when the onion turns translucent and starts to fall apart.
