Chicken has a very delicate flavour, so there is no limit to how you season it. Here is a recipe for an all-purpose marinade made with ketchup, honey, garlic and herbs that works just as well for pan-fried as for grilled chicken. The marinade takes no time at all to mix and the meat then simply needs to rest in the fridge.
Preparing the ingredients: Peel the garlic and cut it into thin slices, peel the onion and chop it finely. Put both into a bowl.
Mixing the marinade: Gradually add the remaining marinade ingredients and mix everything together thoroughly.
Marinating the meat: Put the cleaned chicken meat into the finished marinade and stir well so that the marinade reaches every piece.
Chilling in the fridge: Cover the bowl with cling film and leave the meat to marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight.
Cooking the meat: The marinated meat can then be cooked in a pan or grilled.
