Chicken in paprika sauce with fresh peas is a reliable choice when you need a quick and tasty meal. Tender chicken is simmered in a velvety paprika sauce, complemented by sweet peas. It is easy to prepare and the result is sure to please.
Peel the onion and chop it finely. Clean the chicken, cut it into bite-sized pieces and season with salt.
Heat the oil with a tablespoon of butter in a deeper pan or casserole and let the chopped onion soften. Add the chicken, fry it, sprinkle with paprika, let the paprika release its aroma and pour in the stock.
Simmer until tender. Remove the cooked meat, thicken the sauce with flour mixed in a little water and let it cook for 20 minutes.
Just before the end, add the peas (they must not overcook), drizzle with lemon juice, stir in the cream to make the sauce creamier and return the meat to it.
