Hrníčkové knedle are a popular Czech side dish made with coarse flour, milk, bread rolls and stiffly beaten egg whites. The batter is spooned into greased cups and steamed in a pot of water. The result is light, fluffy dumplings that go beautifully with sauces or roast meat. Preparation takes around 45 minutes and the quantities given serve 6.
