Tea biscuits are a classic that literally melts in your mouth. These delicate sticks of butter dough are sandwiched with jam and half-dipped in chocolate. They are easy to make and perfect even for beginners. Serve them with afternoon coffee or tea.
First mix the flour, cream powder, sugar, vegetable shortening, egg yolks and baking powder into a dough and leave it to rest in a cool place for a few minutes.
Lightly grease the baking trays with butter and preheat the oven.
Press the dough through a meat mincer with a decorative attachment and shape it into sticks. Arrange them on the greased tray and bake until lightly golden.
Join the cooled tea biscuits with jam and dip half of each in chocolate.
You can also bake half the batch, but always use two egg yolks.
