Pan-Fried Carp Steak

Even less experienced cooks can handle preparing a carp at home. We show you how to cut a carp into horseshoe steaks, fillet it, remove the skin and slice the meat into portions. One steak goes straight into a light marinade and then quickly into the pan.

Method

01.

Cut a horseshoe steak about 2 cm thick from a fresh carp so that it cooks through beautifully and stays juicy at the same time.

02.

Drizzle the steak with lemon juice, season with salt and leave it to rest in the fridge for a while. Then pat it dry with kitchen paper, season it with freshly ground pepper and plenty of granulated garlic, and place it in a hot frying pan whose base you have rubbed with olive oil.

03.

Fry it only long enough for the steak to be properly cooked and juicy, about 3 minutes on each side. Then take the pan off the heat, cover it with a lid and let it rest for 5 minutes.

04.

Serve with a light vegetable djuveč. Prepared this way, the carp beats even salmon, if you ask us.
