Do you crave pasta cooked perfectly al dente? Then drain it immediately after cooking so it doesn't become overcooked. If you don't want to bother with a lid, try using a colander instead – you'll see how easy and effortless draining pasta can be.
Cook the pasta in salted water according to the packet instructions.
Squeeze the sauerkraut, chop it and simmer it in a small amount of water (just enough to cover the sauerkraut) for 10 minutes together with the bay leaf, ground black pepper and cumin. Optionally add a pinch of sugar and season with salt. Bear in mind, however, that the seasoned and salty sausage will change the final taste. Then drain the sauerkraut.
Heat the lard in a pan and fry the sausage, cut into small pieces.
Mix the pasta, sauerkraut and sausage together and serve.
