Tender pork chops are pounded, layered with mushrooms and cheese, and baked in cream. The result is a fragrant, juicy dish. Serve it with chips or potatoes.
Pound the pork chops as you would for schnitzel, season with salt and lightly with pepper. Cut the mushrooms into thicker slices and grate the cheese.
Put a piece of butter in a roasting tin, place the meat slices on it and layer them with mushrooms and grated cheese. Pour over the larger half of the cream and bake in an oven preheated to about 220 °C.
Take the meat out and separate the pieces from time to time so it does not stick and stays juicy. It depends on how quickly the meat becomes tender, but bake it for almost an hour and a half. During that hour, also lower the temperature to about 180 °C and, for the last few minutes, pour in the remaining cream and a little milk.
Serve with chips or potatoes.
