Shaken potatoes are a wonderful side dish that is quick and easy to make. The potatoes are first parboiled, then shaken in the pot with seasoned butter so they are evenly coated, and finally roasted in the oven until golden and crispy. They go perfectly with schnitzel or a fresh salad.
Peel the potatoes, leaving the smaller ones whole and halving the larger ones. Put them into plenty of salted water and cook for about 10 minutes; they should stay half-soft.
Melt the butter and stir in all the spices. Drain the cooked potatoes and let them steam off for a moment.
Pour the butter over the potatoes, cover with a lid and shake the pot thoroughly on all sides so that the potatoes are completely coated.
Preheat the oven to 230 °C. Tip the potatoes onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and roast until golden and crispy. Serve ideally with milk, kefir or a salad, or as a side dish, for example with schnitzel.
