Cabbage soup with smoked meat, bacon and marjoram is hearty and warming. A roux is important for thickening some soups and sauces. This clear method shows you how, so even beginners can manage it easily.
Peel, wash and finely chop the onion. Cut the bacon and smoked meat into small cubes. Peel the garlic clove and press it.
Cut the cabbage into thin strips, put it in a pot and add water so that the cabbage is covered. Cook until tender for about 20 minutes.
In another pot, melt the butter, sauté the onion until translucent and add the chopped bacon. Fry everything until golden brown.
Meanwhile, drain the cooked cabbage and set the water aside.
