These crispy Ukrainian-style potato pancakes hide a juicy filling of minced meat. The base is made from grated potatoes with onion and garlic, fried until golden brown. Thanks to the meat filling they are more satisfying than classic potato pancakes and taste great both as a side dish and on their own.
Peel the potatoes, garlic cloves and onion, then grate them on a fine grater.
Season the mixture with salt and pepper, add the egg and the flour and mix well.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, add a teaspoon of the grated potatoes, flatten them into a pancake, put the minced meat in the middle, shape a small patty and cover it again with a teaspoon of potatoes.
Fry on both sides until golden brown.
