Chicken livers hunter's style have a spicy flavour brought out by the rum together with garlic and ketchup. The alcohol evaporates during cooking, leaving only a pleasant aroma behind. The dish is ready in 35 minutes and tastes great with rice, potatoes or fresh bread.
Slice the onion and garlic and let them release their aroma in hot oil.
Add the livers, season with pepper and fry until browned.
Then pour in a little water, add the bay leaf and allspice and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Add strips of all the peppers and pour in the alcohol.
Cover again, but only for 10 minutes, so the peppers stay crisp. Season with salt and add ketchup to taste.
Serve with rice, potatoes or just bread.
