A hearty beef goulash with an onion base that fills the kitchen with aroma. Thanks to the pressure cooker, it's ready in no time and the meat becomes beautifully tender. Serve it with bread dumplings and a sprinkle of fresh onion.
Melt the lard in a pressure cooker and gently fry the finely chopped onion until translucent. Add the sweet paprika and fry for half a minute.
Add the beef cut into cubes and fry until it seals. Once it gives off a strong aroma and releases its juices, season with salt and pepper and add the caraway seeds.
Pour in water, stir well and simmer in the pressure cooker. After about 30 minutes the meat should be tender.
Add boiling water with the dissolved Masox stock cube and continue to simmer uncovered.
Stir the prepared roux into the boiling goulash and let it simmer for at least 20 minutes. Add the pressed garlic and marjoram.
Serve the beef goulash with bread dumplings. Garnish with finely sliced onion rings.
This recipe makes enough for a large family, yielding up to 2.5 litres of goulash.
