Fruit dumplings are as much a part of summer as ripening fruit in the garden. The dough made from quark, coarse flour and butter comes together in no time, and you can wrap up almost anything that is in season. A few minutes of cooking is all it takes to put a sweet lunch or dinner on the table. Our video shows you how to wrap the dumplings properly.
Mix the quark, butter and eggs well, then add the flour.
Knead the dough and leave it to rest for 10 minutes.
Roll the dough into a log, divide it into equal pieces and place fruit on them as you like, either fresh or from a compote.
Shape the dumplings and put them into boiling water. Loosen them from the bottom with a wooden spoon.
Cook until they float to the surface.
Serve sprinkled with breadcrumbs, which you toast in a pan together with butter and icing sugar. Pour over melted butter. They can also be served with quark, cocoa, cinnamon, or however you like.
